Time for a brief public service announcement: If you are a friend or an acquaintance of mine and are planning to attend this year's Tokyo Game Show (Sept. 24 to 26 in Chiba), please drop me a line at john (at) tokyopia (dot) com or leave a comment here and let me know what days you'll be in town and where you'll be staying.

That is all. Thanks!

What are your post-retirement plans??

excellent question. i plan to move to san diego, maybe own a welsh corgi, one small enough to kick around. spend the days before the bomb goes off drinking coca-cola and eating air-popped popcorn without salt or butter, how the good lord intended it.

in the meantime, i look forward to going to the outback steakhouse in kaihin-makuhari after tokyo game show on saturday, and eating a blooming onion.

why and how are you getting spam comments on here? i want to use this comment to say that it is not, in any way, my fault. seriously. i'm asking because i fear when and if it'll happen to me someday.

Spam is a pretty big common with Movable Type; fortunately there's an awesome solution that I've been sitting on for nearly two months because I didn't have any time to install it until today called MT Blacklist:

http://www.jayallen.org/projects/mt-blacklist/

Now that I've got it up and running I imagine my spam problems will all but go away. It's amazingly useful and really, really easy to use. I highly recommend it for anyone running MT!

I'm going to skip the MT blacklist solution (though I've had a lot of spam recently) and move straight to wordpress. Actually, I'm mulling over the prospect of keeping my personal blog on livejournal and just putting static stuff on my homepage.

And I should be going to TGS too. I got my press application in for the first time this year, so should be set. Just need to book the Friday off work ;)

I have a simple question that just needs a yes or no answer. I know you have an account on www.gamefaqs.com, but do you also have an account on www.evolvedonline.com? Sorry if this isn't relevent to the Tokyo Game Show, but this seemed like the best way to contact you.

Nehefer -- nope. How come?

Posted by: john tv at September 10, 2004 07:12 PM

The reason I asked is because some guy claims to be you. I was pretty sceptical, but I thought it would be pretty cool if a member of EGM went there. The guy on the site that claims to be you got a bunch of digital quality pictures of you playing games with your friends, the side talkin' picture, and a shot of you at E3. I'm disappointed that it's not really you, but thanks for responding so fast.

The weirder thing about all this is that Nehefer is the one posing as John...

where are the Tantra party pics located?

Posted by: party goer at October 3, 2004 10:04 AM

If you went to the party, please check your e-mail or contact me privately. They're not on this site.

Thanks!
